We are looking for a radiocarbon scientist to join a dynamic team focused on developing high-resolution radiocarbon dating applications.
The successful applicant will play a vital role in the development of the TIME Lab - a new radiocarbon and stable isotope research and training facility at the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research.
We are looking for a team player ready to assume a leading role in high quality data production, instrument performance and laboratory management for a MICADAS and auxiliary equipment.
The position includes opportunities for innovation and participation in team development of funding proposals, research programs and publications, as well as offering mechanisms for independent research.
Experience directly relevant to the position is essential, such as independently operating a MICADAS or equivalent instrumentation.
Experience with AGE-3, IRMS, GIS and / or LA-IRMS instrumentation would also be an advantage.
This position has a starting salary of $75,540.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility for operation and maintenance of a MICADAS Accelerator Mass Spectrometer and associated AGE-3, GIS and IRMS systems.
- Overall responsibility for maximizing output of high-quality data.
- Laboratory management
- Data analysis, data management, processing and reporting
- Subject expert, providing expert consultation in experimental design and technical protocols utilizing the MICADAS and ancillary equipment
- Training other laboratory personnel and student workers.
- Participates in writing and research for publications and proposal development
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in Ion beam physics, chemistry or related subject. Minimum of 8 years of directly relevant (AMS) work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience directly relevant to the position is essential, such as independently operating a MICADAS or equivalent instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AGE-3, IRMS, GIS and / or LA-IRMS instrumentation would also be an advantage.
