Company Overview : Biz Scout is making small businesses as easy to buy and sell as real estate. We are bridging the gap between one generation’s legacy of small business creation and the next generation who will buy and innovate within them.

We are a marketplace for off-market deals, paired with a traditional small business marketplace and a brokerage arm that helps hold buyers and sellers' hands.

Our unfair advantage is the 100 million monthly views we get as a media company and use to increase all sides of the marketplace from brokers to buyers, to sellers.

We are a digital media company, education business, and an investment firm. We are one of (if not THE) fastest-growing business media companies with over 100 million views a month and 5+ million social followers.

We put our money where our mouth is with holding companies of small businesses that comprise our enterprise and are launching several new channels and businesses this year.

We are led by Codie Sanchez, former Wall Street and Private Equity investor.

Job Description : We are looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial, and extremely driven individual that will act as head of product / platform and lead a team to push the direction of Biz Scout.

With the support and guidance of our core exec team, you will be responsible for the plan, strategy, build, marketing, launch, tech, and ongoing leadership of the company.

In parallel, you will execute, prioritize, and write full tickets for each sprint. You will be joining a lean team with a flat structure and collaborate with engineering, design, operations, and the growth teams.

We are looking for a candidate with a pre-existing track record of success in scaling companies from 6-figures to 8 figures who is familiar with the dynamics of a fast-growing startup specifically in the marketplace or platform space.

Having a real estate, fintech, or small business background is a plus.

Responsibilities :

  • Own the product / platform function end-to-end.
  • Translate vision into an actionable strategy and build a product roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders (both internal and external) to solve organizational problems;

brainstorm and problem-solve to come up with lean solutions quickly.

  • Use analytics and user research to drive feature development and iterate on MVPs; translate raw data into actionable insights that influence decision-making.
  • Prioritize, spec, and write tickets for all stakeholder requests and OKR-driven features.
  • Overtime manage a designer and continue to manage the product org as the team grows; act as an advocate for the product org.
  • Take total ownership of the product and delegate accordingly.
  • Create, manage, and execute the business plan.
  • Develop new strategies for increasing user growth and building out capability.
  • Collaborate with the social media team on ideas for new campaigns.
  • Work with the creative team to produce eye-catching designs on the web & social media.
  • Team Management : Build and lead a high-performance executive team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Financial Stewardship : Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Innovation : Drive innovation by staying at the forefront of technological advancements and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management : Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in product, tech or marketplace (Director level and above).
  • Prior experience in 2-sided marketplaces building products or leading teams for both B2B and B2C.
  • Ability to rapidly analyze, iterate, and execute.
  • A self-starter with a lean mindset and prior experience in early-stage startup that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a point of view on tech stack and are comfortable using tools such as Jira, Typeform, Circle, Stripe, Acuity, Zoom, etc.
  • Experience with optimizing / designing product for growth and scalability.
  • Experience with making data-driven decisions and using data tools such as Tableau or Excel.
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep knowledge of tech trends, markets, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Target Salary Range : $200k plus incentive bonuses and equity.

Notes : The target salary range is a subset of a competitive total reward package including equity, benefits, and incentive pay as applicable.

Individual pay may also vary, as it takes into account a number of parameters including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
