Description : Our client is an Agricultural Equipment Manufacturer in the Central Valley that is looking to fill a position for a Machinist who will be responsible for fabricating replacement and new parts for facility machinery as well as product equipment.

This person will fabricate, erect, and install production equipment and maintain facility machinery.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes as well as the ability to perform field fabrication.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery and production machinery.
• Complete daily production, parts and repair logs.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications;

adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.

• Maintain and secure work tools
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate with operators from other shifts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining as well as knowledge of manual lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and plans.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.

Education and Experience :

• Vocational / technical school training and apprenticeship required.
• Experience using the following tools : lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical / horizontal cut off saw.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS :

• 30 to 40 percent of the job requires lifting carrying holding and manipulating objects weighting excess of 50 pounds.
• Able to bend over.
• Reach overhead with no restrictions.
• Able to push and pull.
• Able to stand on feet for duration of shift.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Especially : skill and ease in using both hands.

Pay Rate : $24 per hr.

Schedule :

• 8-hours (2 Different Shifts)
• Day shift / Night Shift
• Mon Sat.

Location : Merced, CA.
