JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
Ability to perform support activities in patient care as acquired through completion of an approved Vo-Tech program and certified as a Nurse Aide through the Office of Long Term Care or after completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN / LPN program with a nursing skills checklist completed by their nursing instructor.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an approved program to utilize the RN / LPN Nursing Student Skills Checklist. A year of PCT experience within the acute care setting will be considered in lieu of formal training.
Experience Knowledge of mental health care technician practices and related patient care activities and hospital policies and procedures as acquired through on-the-job training.

JOB SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, responsible for providing direct care. Incumbents are subject to overtime and callback as required by the hospital.
Assists the registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating inpatient care for an assigned group of patients.
Documents and reports any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
