POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Control Technician I is responsible for assisting in the control of production, documentation and inventory maintenance for multiple groups within Consumable Operations.
DUTIES AN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with standardizing and documenting manufacturing processes and procedures aimed at increasing production efficiencies and to ensure industry best practices are followed and maintained.
- Assist in the implementation of new products, projects and processes within the department.
- Participate in inventory control activities for Consumable products business units. Assist in reviewing and maintaining any inventory reporting requirements.
- Track shelf-life for manufactured products to ensure materials are scrapped in a timely manner
- Maintain / track and critically review Consumable batch records and physical batch records after completion. Ensure completed records are electronically organized and maintained as required.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary to help create / update and maintain the Consumables label database. Correct any label database issues as necessary.
Assist in developing, revising and implementing SOPs and other documentation supporting production

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, protein sciences, cellular / molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, engineering or a related field
- Experience with quality document systems in an ISO / GMP regulated environment is preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong inventory fundamentals and analytical background
- Logical problem solving and demonstrated ability to organize and move project tasks forward in an orderly and structured fashion
- Attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to excellence and performance improvement and the drive to deliver quality and value-added results and outcomes
- Knowledge of SharePoint and electronic document management systems such as Master Control or ERP is preferred
- Ability to learn additional software applications / tools, as required
- Demonstrated ability to gather information, identify potential problems and resolve issues
- Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills Effectively communicate issues / problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and reliability of production
- Proficiency in MS Office suite is required
- Experience with standard data analysis tools (MS Excel, MS Access) and the quantitative background to advance this knowledge on the job is expected
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding manufacturing environment with changing priorities
- Ability to lift / move up to 25 pounds

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The individual is occasionally required to walk;
use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
