Quality Control Analyst

We are looking for a Quality Control Analyst for our Westbury, NY facility. In this role you will, with minimal supervision, inspect and / or conduct routine tests on mechanical / machined and electronic components, complete units and complex purchased product.

Determine the position of all purchased and / or fabricated items for an assembly or sub-assembly.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Works from blueprints, engineering specifications, sketches, instructions to plan, prepare and set-up all test equipment for a sequence of in-process and final inspection of assemblies, prototypes, and / or final systems involving close tolerances.
  • Inspection and testing of mechanical / optical / electronic components received from vendors or fabricated in-house. Makes acceptance or rejection decisions.

May determine material disposition, such as, serviceable, replaceable, or discardable.

  • Initiates corrective action for non-conforming product. Analyze and assists in determining the root cause and resolution for non-conformities.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements associated with assigned duties and work location.
  • Perform other duties as required such as calibration of tools.
  • May train machine operators concerning inspection methods and Quality related procedures.
  • Must be able to maneuver 35 lbs. (raw material and equipment). Must be able to ensure a high level of concentration on the job at hand and not be easily distracted.
  • Use a wide variety of standard and special precision measuring instruments and testing devices such as CMM, Profilometer, Optical Comparators, Height gages and Volt / Ohm meters.

Usage / programming of OASIS, VMM, HDV-400.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Highly motivated individual.

Your Profile :

  • 2 year technical degree and minimum of 5 years of experience within Quality / Inspection function
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical inspection, ISO, TQM
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications
  • Basic assembly and computer skills are required
  • Good communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to initiate and perform work within the inspection section and at work cells

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $62,500 to $81,500 per year.

Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc.

Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range.

Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal / sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
