A Brief Overview
This position is for March Cohort, Spring 2025.
The Advanced Practice Immersion Program consists of ICU and Inpatient Medical / Surgical tracks. Opportunity is for either / or, not both.
Immersion Fellows within the ICU track will have opportunities within PICU, CICU, Medical NICU, and Surgical NICU.
Immersion Fellows within the Medical / Surgical track will have opportunities across our inpatient medical and surgical teams.

Under the direction and supervision of a collaborative physician and practicing APP, the APP Fellow-CRNP is a trainee. The APP Clinical Immersion program provides mentoring, didactic teaching, simulation skills training, and experience to prepare the APP Fellow to become a competent inpatient hospital provider.
Throughout the program, the APP Fellow will become responsible for the direct care and follow up of a population of patients that matches his / her skill set, through the designated curriculum and timelines.
The components of the role include education, clinical practice, consultation, and professional development.
What you will do
- Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Attending Physician and / or Hospital Provider :
- Participates in the APP Clinical Immersion program educational curriculum. Completes post-tests and evaluations as a measure of competence.
- Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
- As a part of the learning process, will utilize advanced assessment skills to support the management of a cohort of patients.
Performs and documents daily assessments.
- As a trainee, works collaboratively to communicate the plan of care and potential changes to this plan to the supervising physician and assigned hospital provider.
- Collects and analyzes data and formulates a family-centered plan of care. Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety.
Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms.
Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Nursing Required
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work in a team setting with multiple responsibilities. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Board of Licensing - - Preferred and
- Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - CPNP-PC - Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) - - Preferred or
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (CPNP-AC) - Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) - - Preferred or
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Board of Licensing - - Preferred
