Healthcare Program Specialist - Provider Enrollment - Albany, NY

Part-time position 20-29hrs

Summary

This is a part-time (20-29 hours) position with the NYS Medicaid Program’s Bureau of Provider Enrollment (BPE). This position is in a high-volume production environment and will be responsible for processing healthcare provider applications in eMedNY, which is the Department’s enrollment system, in compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, and policies.

Basic Responsibilities

• Review provider enrollment documents for completeness;
• Document, request and follow up on missing information;
• Verify information by searching internal databases and navigating the internet to access external databases;
• Perform data entry, including saving data and verifying saved data;
• Create and maintain documentation;
• Assist providers and their representatives with the enrollment process, both via telephone and in writing;

Meet production and quality standards; and

Work on special projects, once proficient and if needed

Education :

6 years’ experience in healthcare field, or

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the four (4) years’ experience, or

An associate degree in a related field may be substituted for the two (2) years of experience.

Additional Requirements / Requests

Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in healthcare related field,1-2 years’ experience in public health insurance programs

Strong computer navigation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Previous data entry and data validation experience (Preferred)

Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work assignments in a high-volume production environment.

Ability to be flexible, innovative, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)

Previous office experience in a health care, health insurance, and / or public or non-profit sectors (Preferred)

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
