LPN Dedicated Education Unit (Nights)

The new Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit is an 18-bed unit focused on teaching eager and upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful.

We are looking to build a team of highly engaged nurses who have a passion for education, patient care, and best practices.

This unit will care for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4 : 1 patient to nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students who will take total care of the 4 patients.

A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support / oversight of the students . By joining the Dedicated Education Unit at Mercy, you will have a direct impact on the future of nursing , while progressing your leadership skillset for YOUR future in nursing!

Med Tele Details :

• Bed numbers : 18 beds
• Number of Patient Ratio : 4 : 1 & 6 : 1
• Patient Population : tele and med / surg
• This unit will become an educational unit with the opportunity to precept nursing students!

Incentives :

Qualifications :

• Education : Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Certifications : Current Basic Life Support Certification through an American Heart Association approved program
