Legal Intern

We are looking for an energized Legal Intern to join our team at Atlanta Personal Injury Law Group - Gore in Roswell, GA.

As a Legal Intern, you will contribute to legal research, compose legal documents, and assist our injury lawyers in their representation of those affected.

You will also be granted the opportunity to obtain practical experience in personal injury law, broaden your legal understanding and expertise, and procure hands-on experience in the courtroom.

Responsibilities :

A legal intern working in the field of personal injury law assists lawyers and legal professionals with various tasks related to personal injury cases.

• Legal Research : Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and court cases related to personal injury claims. This research helps lawyers build their cases and arguments
• Case Preparation : Assist in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs. This may involve drafting, formatting, and proofreading documents
• Document Review : Review and organize medical records, police reports, accident reports, and other evidence related to personal injury cases.

This includes cataloging and summarizing important information

• Client Communication : Communicate with clients and help gather information and documents necessary for their cases. You may also assist in drafting correspondence and client updates
• Court Filings : Help prepare and file legal documents with the court. This includes following proper procedures and deadlines for submissions
• Investigation : Assist in gathering evidence by coordinating with investigators, interviewing witnesses, and collecting additional information relevant to the case
• Legal Software : Use legal software and databases to manage and organize case-related information and documents
• Attend Court Proceedings : Accompany attorneys to court hearings, depositions, and mediations. Take notes during these proceedings and assist with any necessary tasks
• Legal Memoranda : Prepare legal memoranda that summarize key legal issues, case law, and arguments related to specific cases
• Trial Preparation : Assist in preparing for trials, which may include organizing trial exhibits, preparing witnesses, and conducting legal research to support trial strategies
• Administrative Tasks : Perform various administrative duties, such as filing documents, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing the attorney's calendar
• Continuing Legal Education : Stay informed about changes in personal injury law, attend legal seminars, and participate in relevant training to expand your knowledge and skills
• Ethics and Confidentiality : Maintain the highest ethical standards and respect client confidentiality.

Qualifications :

• 1-2 years of legal experience
• Paralegal experience
• Knowledge of personal injury law
• Experience with case management
