Under the supervision of the Room Reservationist and the Scheduling Area Graduate Assistant, the Reservation Assistant (RA) reviews online reservation requests for BSU spaces through our Event Management System (EMS).
RAs ensure these requests are compatible with the space in relation to institutional policies and procedures. When appropriate, the RA will follow up with sponsors by email and / or phone to offer resolutions or seek clarification regarding the reservation request.
RAs ensure that incoming reservations contain complete and accurate information so that each event can be provided with the necessary support to be a success.
Interested students must have a positive and professional attitude, and a willingness to learn. They should also have excellent computer and customer service skills.
A major component of this position is communicating with event sponsors and other BSU departments either by email or on the phone.
Previous customer service and / or office experience in addition to familiarity with the campus is preferred.
The Scheduling Area operates Monday-Friday from 9am 5pm. RA shifts are only scheduled during these hours, but a set weekly schedule will be established at the beginning of the semester.
Students can pick up additional open shifts when available if the shift does not conflict with a scheduled class and does not put them over the 20-hour per week cap.
