The Litigation Attorney Manager role provides a new hire with the uniquely experiential opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group’s Litigation Department while demonstrating an ability to meet performance expectations.

As the Managing Attorney of the litigation team, you will have an expansive set of responsibilities including but not limited to, leadership, development, support, and engagement, as is set out in greater detail below.

Oversight and Leadership

  • Responsible for and oversee litigation team operations and portfolio, including, projects, deadlines, workload distribution.
  • Develop strategies for efficient department performance coinciding with our firm’s goals in providing high quality legal representation.
  • Use reporting and analytics to optimize portfolio movement, determine resource needs, and establish team structure.
  • Review and update department legal procedures, training, and templates.
  • Meet and conduct regular attorney, non-attorney, and team meetings.
  • Conduct regular quality control.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, support, supervise, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Engage with team, communicate set goals, expectations, objectives, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Coach, motivate, and encourage team members to collaborate on problem solving and to enhance their individual skillset as developing attorneys.
  • Invest in the team’s growth and in the development of future leaders.

Legal Support & Practice

  • Provide day-to-day advice to firm attorneys in conjunction with their case management, legal analysis, and preparation for oral argument.
  • Responsible for overseeing and handling legal strategy for complex litigation.
  • Prepare for and attend escalated court appearances including, trials, hearings and appellate arguments.
  • Communicate firm, industry, and legal changes or updates to the team.

Engaging With Firm Leadership & Clients

  • Advise firm leadership with respect to the legal implications of all major case law, court decisions, and statutes.
  • Represent the Managing Partner at client meetings, conference calls, industry conferences, and seminars.
  • Serve as a liaison between the firm and its clients, ensuring excellent customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Present team status and performance to firm leadership in monthly status meetings.

Experience :

  • Detailed knowledge of New York foreclosure process and legal intricacies from complaint filing to foreclosure sale.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and their application to foreclosure matters.
  • Knowledge of federal and state consumer protection statutes.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Appellate Advocacy
  • Trial and hearing experience
  • New York barred for 10+ years.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Plaintiff’s foreclosure practice.

Required Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the New York bar

Salary : $150,000-$225,000; commensurate with experience
