Walpole Outdoors is adding a full-time Director of Showroom Sales to lead day-to-day showroom operations. The Director of Showroom Sales is a crucial team member, managing the success of all of our showrooms company-wide.
This person should be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities at once, and experienced in assessing and improving operations for efficiency and productivity.

Some responsibilities of the Director of Showroom Sales include but are certainly not limited to :
Store Management
- Maximize store revenue delivering double-digit growth for same store sales while maintaining margins.
- Determine showroom display requirements and ensure consistency across all stores.
- Create an inventory system and implement it in showrooms - maintain accuracy greater than 98% of reported inventory levels.
- Be the advocate for showrooms within the business.
- Create, manage, and regularly update store promotions and displays.
- Take part in local events to increase visibility and awareness at a local level.
- Optimize the processes and ensure compliance to policy for order processing, payment management, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure display materials are in good condition and free of defects.
Customer Service and Lead Generation
- Manage lead qualification for design consultants and sales teams ensuring appropriate use of salesforce.com.
- Ensure compliance to and consistency with company processes and messages.
- Triage, approve, and process adjustments and revision requests for products sold through showrooms.
Employee Management
- Motivate and inspire the showroom employees to optimize revenue while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Train showroom sales associates as needed.
- Achieve results by coaching, counseling, measuring, and disciplining employees.
- Ensure showrooms are staffed and open appropriate hours (which may include nights, weekends, and holidays).
Garden Centers and Customer Displays
- Work with sales and marketing to ensure that the Garden Center Program is promoted and complied with.
- Work with customers to maximize the return from their displays.
- Drive promotions through the program.
- Ensure that displays have current products displayed.
Requirements
This job will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.
The role will be based in Foxborough, MA, but will include up to 25% travel (mainly within New England, New York, and New Jersey).
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in retail for a high-value brand, preferably in the building products industry.
- Highly energized and driven with a positive attitude.
- Great organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
