The Sourced Materials Planning Manager leads a team of Sourced Buyers, with the responsibility of planning and scheduling the delivery of material from external vendors to all the distribution warehouses including DCs and DSOs.
Making sure most efficient and cost effective routes. Development of inventory plans based on anticipated financial forecasts and the daily monitoring of these plans to ensure adequate supply chain flow.
Responsibilities include monitoring the flow of material guaranteeing availability of these products in order to avoid out of stocks and high risk , as well as to manage inventory levels to achieve inventory targets assigned and agreed upon by the Materials Leader and the organization.
Support ongoing supply chain projects with the entire supply chain team (OPEX, Operations, Factory, Transportation) and the continuous improvement of our KPI metrics across the business.

Responsibilities :
- Manages material planning activity to ensure timely delivery of material to support internal and external demand to the distribution network.
- Manage the transition to the New Low GWP requirements and inventory transition in the DC’s and DSO’s.
- Ensure reconciliation of purchase orders / releases through vendor payment with while staying in the guidelines / goals set forth by Trane Technologies.
- Ensure the team is following and adhering to standard work of Item Maintenance & Purchase Order Maintenance.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across departments including Product management, Procurement, Engineering, Transportation, Customer Service, Finance, Warehousing, SIOP, DSO planning.
- Responsibilities must tie to business guidelines to support business goals and initiatives.
- Using the Servigistics Planning System, ensure recommendations, push outs and critical shortages are managed to service customer demand and adjust stock positions to maintain effective order availability.
- Serve as an escalation point with Material Buyer / Planners when they are not able to resolve issues effectively.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual development, tracking and maintaining performance metrics.
- Ensure the Planning Team is trained and effectively utilizing ERP planning tools.
- Ensure the Planning Team is utilizing Trane Technologies Standard Work and adherence to BOS standards.
- Champion Lean process and standard work for Materials Planning function
- Plan for the development of the staff by organizing training sessions along with yearly performance reviews.
- Make sure buyer / planners are effectively using MDI and nine step problem solving.
- Continuous improvement of planning and MDI
- Maintain current positive employee engagement while actioning and improving negative engagement scores.
- Meet or exceed RISK / ATC / INVENTORY goals.
- Conduct yearly employee PMP and Developmental reviews and Goal setting.
- Travel : 10-15%
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent planner / planner management experience.
- Experience leading a team and performing yearly reviews
- 5+ years minimum planner / buyer experience or supply chain equivalent.
- APICS certification preferred or achieved within 12 months of position.
- Considerable knowledge of HVAC products preferred.
- Tableau, Alteryx, Servigistics, Demantra, WIndchill knowledge and experience preferred.
- Oracle BI Reporting, Microsoft Excel and Access experience preferred.
Key Competencies :
- Knowledgeable of supplier processes and capabilities.
- Able to provide direction and training to peers as needed.
- Computer proficient with ERP / Time Phased Order Point Planning systems
- Basic to advanced mathematical skills
- Experience with distribution planning in multi-facility environment
- Experience with rate based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.
- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
- Experience with visual management systems
