About the Organization :
The Eau Claire Express begin their 20th year in the summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is comprised of teams of the top college players from across North America.
Each team is operated similar to a professional minor league team, providing development opportunities to players, front office staff members, interns and coaches.
The Express are operated similarly to other Northwoods League teams in that their players use wooden bats, experience long road trips and overnight stays and play nightly in front of thousands of fans.
The Eau Claire Express play at Carson Park located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
The duties of the Video Production intern include any or all of the following :
- Direct game day broadcasts of all Express home games including managing three camera operators and one production assistant while operating the switchboard
- Create and update between-inning material for game broadcasts
- Highlight reels
- Player interviews
- Sponsor commercials
- Player information slides
- Statistics slides
- League leaders
- Slides promoting upcoming games
- Troubleshoot any problems with the video system throughout the course of the season
- Attend all league training sessions offered prior to the season
- Manage Express YouTube page
- Create and produce commercials and promotional spots as necessary to assist with Express marketing efforts
- Set up and conduct various interviews with Express players and personnel for use on the Express website and social media pages
- Produce video highlight packages for website and internal use
- Create mid-season and post-season highlight recap videos for use on social media
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Pursuing a degree in one of the following; Journalism, Video Production, Communications, Sports Management, Business, Broadcasting,
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Experience with live broadcasting (preferably sporting events)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Strong computer skills
- Organized, motivated, and able to work independently
