Job Summary

  • Provides experienced design, evaluation, development, and deployment of network system software and hardware technology.
  • Identifies and resolves moderately complex problems, issues, and assignments in providing network operational support.
  • Implements and recommends improvements to network performance and reliability.
  • Performs experienced network analysis and studies to support the growth and expansion of IU-managed networks.
  • Documents network engineering efforts (updates, new functionality, issue / problem resolution).
  • Participates on project teams and resolves more complex network technical issues.
  • Protects software by performing data-backups and coordinating network security measures.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience.

EDUCATION

Required

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field)

2 years of network engineering or related experience

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
