Parsons Corporation, a leading technology and engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Zero Trust Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in the federal government sector.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Zero Trust architecture and strategies, with a proven track record of implementing and managing Zero Trust security frameworks in complex environments.
This role requires a Top Secret / SCI clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work and the criticality of protecting national security information.
Key Responsibilities :
Zero Trust Strategy Development : Lead the development and implementation of Zero Trust security strategies tailored to the unique requirements of federal government agencies.
Provide expert guidance on best practices and emerging trends in Zero Trust security.
Policy and Compliance : Ensure compliance with federal security policies, standards, and regulations. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enforce Zero Trust policies, ensuring alignment with government directives and frameworks such as NIST and FISMA.
Architecture and Design : Design and architect Zero Trust solutions, including network segmentation, identity and access management, continuous monitoring, and threat detection and response.
Ensure the integration of Zero Trust principles into existing and new IT infrastructure.
Implementation and Management : Oversee the implementation of Zero Trust technologies and solutions, including multi-factor authentication, least privilege access, micro-segmentation, and advanced threat protection.
Manage the ongoing operation and maintenance of Zero Trust environments.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats within federal IT systems.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Zero Trust principles.
Training and Awareness : Develop and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns to educate federal employees and stakeholders on Zero Trust concepts, policies, and practices.
Foster a culture of security awareness and vigilance.
Incident Response : Lead incident response efforts related to security breaches or threats within Zero Trust environments.
Coordinate with federal incident response teams to contain and remediate security incidents promptly.
Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, compliance, and executive leadership, to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of Zero Trust initiatives.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Security Clearance : Active Top Secret / SCI clearance is mandatory.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.
g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity and 2 years focused on Zero Trust architecture and implementation in the federal government or similar highly regulated environments.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Zero Trust technologies and frameworks, including identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, micro-segmentation, endpoint security, and threat intelligence.
Knowledge : In-depth understanding of federal security standards and regulations, including NIST SP 800-207, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security challenges and develop effective solutions.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
Leadership : Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive security initiatives to successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with federal agencies or contractors.
Knowledge of cloud security and experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with advanced threat detection and response tools and techniques.

Salary Range :
