Industrial Finish Painter

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Painter to an established company in Montgomery, AL. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing and painting metal surfaces using spray guns and other equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

• Prepare metal surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and removing old finishes; use patching materials as needed.
• Mix paints, enamels, or lacquers to achieve the correct consistency and viscosity for spraying.
• Apply paint using a spray gun, ensuring even coverage and high-quality finishes.
• Maintain knowledge of various paints and coatings suitable for different metal applications.
• Operate painting equipment, overhead crane and tools safely and effectively.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished work and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times.
• Perform regular maintenance on painting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as an industrial painter, with a focus on prepping and painting metal surfaces.
• Proficient in the use of spray guns and other painting tools.
• Strong understanding of paint properties and techniques.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy objects, climbing and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

This is a Try and Hire placement and pay range is $17 - $20 per hour based on experience.
