Senior Buyer
As a Senior Buyer you will prepare bid specifications, requests for commodities, services, and proposals in Morgan Hill, CA
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business or equivalent
are required.
- Administrative skills & computer literacy are required.
- At least five years of experience is required in procurement
Job Responsibilities :
- Prepares detailed bid specifications, requests for quotations for commodities and services, requests for proposals for commodities and services, and purchase orders.
- Identify varied sources of commodities and services, evaluates bids, awards contracts, and purchase orders, develops standards for new products or services, maintains contact with vendors, and maintains comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices.
- Identify and select vendors to procure materials and / or equipment etc. to meet criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates and place orders.
- Verify data accuracy (parts numbers, BOMs, MOQ, lead time, standard costs, etc.) in MRP; report problems to appropriate parties.
- Monitor aged inventory and provide weekly reports and data analysis to reduce excess inventory.
- Drive to improve inventory turns by having quick execution on MRB and quick returns on RTV.
- Drive Gross Margin Improvements through contract price negotiations, rework cost, and minimizing expediting cost and purchase price variance.
- Responsible for materials lead time reduction by getting suppliers to improve cycle time, negotiating on hedges and manufacturing and supply agreements.
- Communicate with suppliers for early or delayed deliveries as required, drive suppliers to improve on-time delivery.
- Perform supplier audits, suppliers’ selection, and ongoing rating.
- Prepare KPI analysis and update weekly reports to improve supplier performance.
Salary : $67-76K / Annually
Shift : 1 st ; Monday Friday (Some Saturdays)
Hours : 7am 3 : 30pm
