Essential Responsibilities :
- Teach courses in assigned area(s); plan and develop an engaging, standards-based course study, adhering to the educational best practices and state and school district curriculum.
- Instruct students by designing and delivering research based instructional strategies using a variety of teaching techniques to ensure a productive learning environment for all students.
- Select and requisition books and instructional aids / materials as needed.
- Communicate and maintain clear standards of student behavior to provide a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assess students' academic growth and maintain required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records, including updating the online gradebook in a timely manner.
- Communicate academic and behavioral progress and concerts with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and / or principal.
- Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities such as in the hallways, assemblies, field trips, in the lunchroom, etc. as assigned.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with the district and state laws and policies.
- Implement IEP and 504 Plans with fidelity to meet the needs of students.
- Discuss academic difficulties with students, parents, and appropriate staff members as they arise.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
