Power BI Developer

The Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing Business Intelligence and analytics software and processes.

This role will extend the existing data architecture in Microsoft Azure through additional architecture, designing and implementing new process to incorporate new data sources, expanding, and creating new analysis platforms and the execution of strategic projects to realize our data management strategy.

He or she collaborates with internal IT, external third parties and other business stakeholders to identify and implement data strategy opportunities that drive business success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Independently collaborates with senior management to understand complex business challenges and opportunities and develops data solutions that meet business intelligence or insights needs.
• Assists with the creation of complex PowerBI dashboards that are quickly deployed to users in a manner that is easily repeatable while delivering fast, clear, and flexible outputs.
• Analyzes data, forming conclusions and recommendations, producing insights that will help shape effective strategies to achieve business outcomes.
• Drives adoption of dashboards by providing consultation and training for end users.
• Provides innovative ideas and creates best practices for designing and developing Business

Intelligence solutions :

• Identifies & resolves data quality issues discovered during the business intelligence and insights process.
• In collaboration with other team developers, designs, develops, and maintains BI processes and partners with internal stakeholders on the data platform.
• Provides mentoring and training to other team members to aid in their individual development to help improve overall team performance.
• Implement data governance strategies and manage / optimize the underlying systems and processes for data governance including data quality, meta data management, data lineage and data protection
• Create and maintain an accurate and up to date data catalog using industry tools
• Enhancement and automate existing business intelligence tools that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation
• Working closely with business / department leaders to ensure understanding of business processes and how they impact BI requirements
• Partner with Information Technologies and business teams to evangelize and drive usage / compliance of BI solutions

Other Duties & Responsibilities :

• Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls
• Other duties as required and assigned

Education & Experience :

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred
• With a bachelor’ degree, a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience required; with a high school diploma / GED, a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience required
• Experience should include most, if not all, of the following :
• Database design, development, and data management
• Data analytics and data modeling / reporting
• SQL skills or PySpark development experience, preferably in large-scale data warehouse solutions
• Working knowledge of Databricks
• Expertise in creating Visualizations and dashboards using Power BI
• Working knowledge of data architecture industry trends e.g. Big Data, Spark, etc.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing or laboratory testing
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing

OLAP) and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework

Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data Factory
