The HealthService Administrator manages the facility's medical programactivities and provides overall direction and leadership based oncorporate goals, objectives and philosophy and in compliance withall applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations andstandards.
Thesuccessful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the followingfunctions at a pace and level of performance consistent with theactual job performancerequirements.
Maintain a good workingrelationship with facility staff, nursing staff, and contractproviders and outside provideragencies.
Utilize established corporate,facility and correctional policies and procedures in makingdecisions, but use sound independent judgement in meeting theresponsibilities and performing the duties of theposition.
Assist in the formulation offacility policy for the medical unit, interpret, enforce and adhereto policies, procedure or contractrequirements.
Evaluate and recommend methods ofimproving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness ofhealth-related services.
Communicate effectively andcoherently to administration, staff, inmates / residents, visitorsand the general public, particularly in situations requiring tact,diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment.
This includes interviewing applicants, giving information,instructions and directions, mediating disputes, advising of rightsand processes and providing reliable testimony, in court and otherformal settings.
Complete an annual writtenevaluation of all staff who are under directsupervision.
Provide for adequate for adequatestaffing at the facility, fill in as needed during periods of shortstaffing, may perform nursing duties including, but not limited to,executing physician's orders, assisting physician in examinationsand treatment, dispensing and administering medications, treatingemergencies and screening patients forreferrals.

Qualifications :
Graduate froman accredited college or university with a degree in nursing or ina healthcare / business related field isrequired.
Advanced degree innursing or related healthcare field ispreferred.
Three (3) years relevantmanagement experience in a healthcare environmentrequired.
A valid driver's licenseis required.
Must demonstrateknowledge of correctional custody methods and techniques, pertinentfacility rules, regulations and standards, principles and practicesof supervision and training, and principles and practices ofmanagement.
Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 19 years ofage.
