We are dedicated to delivering exceptional engineering solutions and are looking for a Senior Mechanical / Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and execute engineering projects from conception to completion.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in field surveys, system selection, and the development of engineering drawings and specifications necessary for bidding and construction.
Experience in a consulting engineering environment is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct detailed field surveys to assess existing conditions.
- Select appropriate systems and develop comprehensive engineering drawings and specifications.
- Oversee the preparation and review of detailed punch lists and construction observation reports.
- Review submittals and respond to RFIs promptly and accurately.
- Supervise and review the work of junior engineers and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Perform heat gain calculations using Trane Trace, HAP, and / or Elite load calculation software, and mentor others in these processes.
- Size and select HVAC equipment to meet project requirements.
- Conduct psychrometric analysis of dehumidification processes.
- Design and layout mechanical equipment rooms, ensuring efficient space utilization and compliance with codes.
- Identify chase requirements for mechanical systems.
- Perform air balancing analysis to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Develop detailed HVAC equipment layouts and ductwork designs.
- Design domestic water service and distribution piping systems.
- Size and layout sanitary waste and vent piping.
- Utilize AutoCAD and / or Revit for engineering design and documentation.
- Meet tight project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve project goals.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in mechanical engineering, ASHRAE standards, Florida Energy Code, and NFPA guidelines.
- Knowledge of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is a plus.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on mechanical utilities (chilled water, compressed air, natural gas, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, kitchen systems, areas of public assembly).
- Entrepreneurial spirit and client-centric attitude.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD and / or Revit.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform detailed punch-list construction observation reports.
- Experience reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
- Ability to review and supervise the work of others.
- Proficient in heat gain calculations, HVAC equipment sizing, psychrometric analysis, air balancing, and ductwork layout.
- Knowledge of domestic water and sanitary piping systems.
