Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, including but not limited to heavy highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), and other concrete-related structures.

The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and competitive bids that align with the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, focusing on highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, WWTP, and other concrete structures.
  • Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy in estimating materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Develop and compile complete bid proposals, including pricing, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze project specifications, site conditions, and drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to provide competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, bid submissions, and related correspondence.
  • Present estimates to management and assist in negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of estimating processes and tools.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a focus on bridges and concrete structures.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
