POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss' Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the success of active project teams across the operation.
As a hybrid project manager and subject matter expert, the Senior Business Analyst combines years of field experience with operational knowledge and a strong understanding of construction technology platforms to help drive consistency across operations and the organization at large.
They will spend time on-site engaging with teams directly and collaborating with cross-functional departments to optimize construction processes and leverage technology to help improve field operations.
The Senior Business Analyst must have strong technical skills coupled with business process and systems experience. They will elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of the operational teams and other business units.
This includes supporting project teams and Shared Service groups, as well as gathering and compiling user requirements to design the best practices for the organization’s various business processes.
The Senior Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development and documentation of organizational best practices and business processes for existing and new construction technology platforms.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guidance and expertise in Procore and other construction technology platforms, ensuring optimal use to support day-to-day operations
Maintain a sufficient level of expertise with the organization’s current platform(s) that support business processes
Regularly visit active construction projects in the region to establish strong working relationships with project teams
Maintain a catalog of common patterns, process pain points, or systemic issues to be reused in new solution applications
Act as a resource for resolving operational issues related to Procore and facilitate training
Drive operational consistency across the enterprise by generating and maintaining documentation on best practices
Contribute to the development of standards and processes to ensure uniformity across all projects, enhancing productivity and consistency
Collaborate with Shared Services departments (Accounting, Safety, Scheduling, etc.) to align and develop their applications within Procore
Maintain current knowledge of the rapidly changing construction technology market
Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to stakeholders
Assist in identifying and incubating new technologies or applications to be piloted for field use
Support the evaluation and integration of construction management tools to ensure they meet the specific needs of the company’s project teams
Partner with IT and Shared Services to ensure smooth technology rollouts and to gather feedback from users for continuous improvement
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field
5+ years of field experience in construction management or a related role
Advanced knowledge of Procore, with an understanding of integrations with other business processes
Experience with other construction technology platforms (e.g. CMiC) is a plus
Knowledge of document control processes related to construction, such as management of construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process and operations
Strong project management skills, with an aptitude for both independent and collaborative work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train diverse project teams
Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
Problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset for improving construction processes and technology utilization
