GeoLogics is seeking a talented Sr. Mechanical Engineer to work with one of our aerospace and defense partners in Middletown, RI .
Position : Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Contract / Temp)
Location : Onsite / Hybrid in Middleton, RI
Pay : $53.00 - $65.00 per hour
Clearance Requirement : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.
S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.
S. citizenship is required.

Job Overview :
As a Mechanical E ngineer for the Tactical Hardware business area, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform.
Required Skills / Qualifications :
- B.S. degree and minimum of 8 years of related experience (or 6 years with a M.S. degree), including :
- Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
- Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes
- Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
Preferred Skills / Qualifications :
- Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature)
- Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards
- Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
