Description
We are looking for an Environmental Inspector with experience in constructability design to join our team for a long-term project in Upstate New York.
This role involves a unique blend of office-based design support and field inspection work, focusing on the construction of critical infrastructure in the region between Syracuse and Albany, NY.
The project is expected to span 2 years in design and an additional 1-2 years in construction.
Per diem is available in addition to an hourly wage.
Responsibilities
Design Support (50%) :
- Assist in the development and review of constructability designs.
- Ensure that environmental regulations and best practices are integrated into the design phase.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
Field Work (50%) :
- Conduct on-site inspections during the construction phase to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and project specifications.
- Monitor construction activities to minimize environmental impacts, including erosion control, waste management, and habitat protection.
- Report and document any environmental concerns, non-compliance issues, and suggest corrective actions.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications :
- Strong knowledge of NY Article 7 and relevant state environmental regulations.
- Experience in both design review and field inspection work related to large-scale construction projects.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
