SUMMARY :
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist who has a wide array of HR experiences inclusive of Payroll. This role has (2) key responsibility areas, Payroll and HRIS.
The incumbent will provide operational support within the Human Resources and Payroll department and is a subject matter expert of the HRIS system, ideally UKG Pro.
The incumbent must have a high level of computer skills to manage the HRIS and Payroll system.
DUTIES :
- Processes multi-state payroll for over 500 employees bi-weekly.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax withholdings.
- Processing of wage garnishment orders.
- Knowledge of Exempt vs Non-Exempt employee.
- Knowledge of FLSA rules regarding overtime calculation.
- Supports the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), to meet ongoing business needs to support workforce analytics.
- Serves as the internal customer service representative for UKG questions or problems.
- Provides HRIS and other trainings to employees.
- Assist with benefits related transactional tasks.
- Serve as training coordinator UKG Pro Learning.
- Supports key HR annual processes : performance management, year-end close, merit, etc.
- Serves as back up for recruitment, onboarding, performance management as it relates to the HRIS.
- Report weekly agency hours to temp agency.
- Process employee changes in HRIS / Payroll system.
- Generate ad hoc reports for both HR & Finance team.
- Work confidentially with discretion.
- Meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Respond timely to employment wage verification requests.
- Answer questions regarding paychecks, withholding tax issues or wage adjustments from employees and help troubleshoot possible pay issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of (2) to (5) years of experience in multi-state payroll and Human Resources.
Candidate should possess excellent communications skills (written and verbal), be a self-confident, self-starter and be able to work independently, within a cross functional team environment, and lead cross functional meetings when necessary.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS :
- UKG Pro experience
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
