Senior Account Manager
Senior Account Managers are expected to proactively manage a portfolio of accounts that have been assigned and / or solicited (a book of business), building strong relationships while developing strategies aimed at profitably growing sales according to company-prescribed targets.
He / she shall work with internal teams to develop and deliver solutions that meet customer needs and wants.
Essential Functions :

- Develops and implements strategic plans for key accounts, resulting in sales growth and a mutual benefit.
- Delivers budget and stretches sales targets, as introduced at the start of each new fiscal year.
- Follows up leads, prepares quotes and proposals using appropriate resources and wins new business; manages opportunities via pipeline tool (funnel), as appropriate.
- Cultivates and maintains strong customer relationships, culminating in status as trusted advisor.
- Sponsors and manages onboarding with new customers; facilitates implementation of contracts and agreements using Company’s legal counsel as required.
- Communicates and coordinates with internal teams to address customer issues, needs and opportunities in a timely manner.
Escalates serious concerns as needed, owning the situation from start to finish.
- Delivers and negotiates price increases, providing facts and rationale to minimize risk of lost business.
- Supports finance team’s effort to secure payments on past-due receivables.
- Develops a working knowledge of company’s and customers’ businesses, markets, go-to-market strategies, applications and end customers to add value, earning recognition as a subject matter expert.
- Assists customers in field to solve problems and create pull for new business.
- Identifies opportunities for new products and applications, facilitates engineering reviews / approvals.
- Represents Company at trade shows and customers events.
- Other duties can be assigned based on company needs and employee capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibility :
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. At times, due to projects or work assignments, employee will need to coordinate and direct a team to meet / satisfy individual / company objectives.
Work Environment :
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
At times, employee might be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00AM to 5 : 00PM. To meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.
Travel :
Overnight travel is expected for this position. Expected travel time is roughly 50%.
Required Education and Experience :
Associates Degree in relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years or more of related experience required to qualify as senior account manager.
Preferred Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience working in for a manufacturer and / or retailer or wholesaler.
