The HR Business Partner will serve as a business partner to managers, supervisors, and employees across the organization by performing a variety of complex, professional and supervisory level work in multiple functional areas of HR, including : benefits, compensation,managing employee relations, training, performance management, workforce effectiveness / organizational development, leading recruitment, change management and other workplace initiatives.
The incumbent will provide leadership and counsel to business partners in issue resolution, policy and process development, adherence and renewal to ensure legal compliance, as well as maintaining a strategic and operational view that links the role of HR to business needs.
This role reports into the Senior HRBP.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Task
Training and Development : Work with site leadership to develop and implement training processes and plans that drive operational excellence and functional / technical competence.
Drive training compliance and documentation / tracking. Serve as the Learning Management System (LMS) administrator for the plant.
Coordinate all aspects of local training courses for the plant.
Recruiting : Management of the multi-step recruitment and selection process for Salaried and Salaried Non Exempt positions including testing, interviews, background checks, physical / drug screens and new hire onboarding processes.
Utilize the Global Recruitment Management System (GRMS) and ensure effective advertisement and applicant tracking for all positions.
Work to match hiring needs with diversity goals by establishing and maintaining relationships with external educational institutions and community outreach organizations.
Employee Relations : Maintain an ongoing and open communication with front line supervisors to monitor potential issues;
manage informal and formal discipline discussions and documentation. Work with managers to implement proactive employee relations and employee engagement initiatives.
Counsel employees and managers as needed.
Serve as an employee advocate by establishing workforce relationships
Ensure effective, consistent administration of Human Resources policies and guidelines
Coordinate employee transfers, conduct exit interviews, and provide recommendations for corrective action policy revision and / or improving employee and labor relations
Champion the company’s Ethical Leadership standards, behaviors and compliance
Represent the company in outside community activities
Affirmative Action : Develop and assemble all information and analysis as it relates to the Affirmative Action Plan for the plant.
Ensure on-going compliance to EEO initiatives and AAP goals. Leads actions to meet AAP annual goals based on analysis of workforce and local labor availability.
Benefits : Assist in resolving issues for employees as it relates to benefits by interacting with the HR Info Center, corporate benefits, and medical providers at the request of employees who have concerns and need assistance in resolution.
Understand and interpret benefit policies and procedures. Provide assistance and interpretation of guidelines / policies as it relates to time off work for FMLA, approved leaves of absence, parental leave and vacation / holidays.
Employee Programs : Coordinate and manage employee programs and celebrations including service awards, retirements, team buildings, Adopt-a-School and Colgate Live Better activities and other local site celebrations.
HR Data Integrity : Maintain HRIS data and audit-ready HR records, including candidate and master job files, leave files, medical files, training files, and I-9 files.
Compensation : Support compensation processes including the quarterly bonus plan, annual wage surveys and technician wage increases.
Leave Management : Manage employee absences and leaves tracking (absences, emergency vacation, STD, FMLA, parental, bereavement, etc.
timekeeping database management and conduct regular audits.
Quality : Understand and comply with Hill’s policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety.
Identify and report Food Safety issues to management

Education / Experience Requirements
Required qualifications include :
BA / BS Degree (Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field) or MS / MBA
3+ years of Human Resources experience (Generalist, Staffing, Compensation, Employment Law, Training, Employee Relations, HRIS)
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
Experience in one or more HR Specialty Areas (Compensation, Benefits, People Relations, People Development, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Analytics, Organization Development / Design)
Strong project management, presentation, and facilitation skills required
Proficiency with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Preferred qualifications include :
Human Resources professional certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR)
Five years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources
Strong proficiency with SAP-HRIS systems and reporting / analysis
Master’s Degree (HR, Business, Management or related field)

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office / market location.
In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and / or Stock Options.
