Project Engineer - Intelligent Transportation Systems

Gannett Fleming efficiently manages existing transportation networks and provides direction on smart city initiatives.

Our ITS team is looking for a highly motivated Transportation Engineer who wants to join an exciting team of transportation professionals in the GF Transportation Operations Group.

This position will have the opportunity to work on ITS, traffic signal, tolling, and managed lanes projects throughout the country.

You will be able to work a hybrid schedule with both in-office and remote days.

Responsibilities :

• Perform engineering design services throughout the project life-cycle, from concept through construction.
• Works with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work.
• Leads tasks / projects.
• Analyzes moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
• Provides direction to younger staff.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Communicates with clients on task oriented issues and on project issues under the direction of the project manager.
• Use strong writing skills and engineering planning to develop guidance documents and reports such as systems engineering documents.
• Interact with clients to relay clear, concise and consistent project related updates.
• Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and electronic communications.
• Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees.
• Occasional project site visits and field work.
• Reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance
• Provides constructability evaluations
• Participate in the development of proposals as part of a pursuit team

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or relevant discipline
• Professional Engineer license required
• 8-12 years' experience working in a relevant field
• Expertise with CADD
• Expertise with MS Office
• Ability to travel as needed
• Some experience with management of project tasks
