The City of Bloomington is seeking an individual to perform advanced level office support duties and facilitate excellent customer service for the Community Development Department with a high level of customer service for the community with emphasis on integrity and equity for all of our customers.

Examples of Duties :
Assist the Building and Inspections Supervisor with the day-to-day operations by overseeing the workflow within the assigned department; prioritize work; recommend office policies and procedures; assist in ensuring departmental policies and procedures conform to City policies, ordinances and other applicable laws and regulationsRespond to requests or complaints from staff and other departments; resolve or refer inquiries from citizens, contractors, outside agencies, and others concerning departmental programs and services; ensure positive communications between the City, other departments, and residentsAttend meetings and provide administrative support for preparing materials for and training new office support staffWork independently and resolve routine issues in absence of supervisorPrepare and process specialized documents in area of assignmentProvide accurate, complete information, and instructions to the public regarding ordinances, policies, and proceduresCoordinate special projects as assigned. i.e., JusFOIA, Nuisance Orders, etc.Schedule inspections for department-issued permitsCashier permits and other fee-related documents and balance drawer dailyIssue and accept a wide variety of forms and documents and review for accuracy and completenessProcess and Issue permits and contact applicant when permits are approved for issuancePerform other duties as apparent or assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required :

This position does not supervise others. Anticipated Hiring Range : $29.48 $31.27 Hourly. 2025 Full Salary Range : $29.48 $39.30 Hourly. Full-Time; Non-Exempt; Union; Benefits Eligible.
