Job Summary : The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time for our employees.
This role involves managing payroll data, addressing payroll discrepancies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing excellent customer service to our staff regarding payroll inquiries.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salaries, benefits, and deductions.
- Verify timekeeping records and consult with managers to resolve discrepancies.
- Calculate bonuses, commissions, and other variable pay components.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax issues.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure data accuracy and streamline payroll processes.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and 1099 forms.
- Participate in audits related to payroll.
- Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
