Collins Aerospace Missions Systems is seeking a Product Quality Engineer II for our San Dimas, CA location. As a Quality Engineer II you will interface with the factory teams supporting production, first article inspections, creating / maintaining work / inspection instructions, and preparation for audits.

The position requires Full Time Onsite presence with possible overtime and weekend work on occasions. The quality engineer II responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :

The role will be performed onsite at our San Dimas, CA facility.

What You Will Do :

  • Work with the Manufacturing Engineering team to assure quality characteristics are designed into planning
  • Utilize APQP methodology to manage quality-production process
  • Pro-active application of quality tools to drive zero-defect performance by monitoring and analyzing nonconforming material
  • Determine and establish inspection planning
  • Perform production process audits
  • Coordination with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality regarding the tracking of supplier issues / certifications
  • Facilitation of corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods
  • Provide analysis and validation of factory or supplier caused factory defects and source inspection data
  • Develop / Present quality reports / presentations to program / facility / business management
  • Selected candidate will deliver effective methods and initiate improvements that will drive and improve overall quality performance reducing area defects and Scrap, Rework, Repair cost
  • Review deliverable Acceptance and Test Data Packages (ADP / TDP) to assure they are correct and complete as defined by the contract before submitting to customer
  • Oversee processing of customer returned material and control of deficiency report documents from receipt to delivery of corrected product
  • Prepare, collect, analyze and maintain metrics; participate as an active member of the program Corrective Action Board (CAB)
  • Review program documentation including specifications, purchase orders, customer contract requirements, specification control drawings, assembly drawings, test plans, procedures, instructions and standard operating procedures prior to release for correctness to technical standards
  • When needed Overtime and weekend work will be required to meet on-time customer delivery schedule or any site needs
  • Provide input regarding the application of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain a close relationship with customer and program leadership to ensure compliant hardware deliveries

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here :
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Electrical or Electro-Mechanical experience / education is highly preferred
  • Previous Quality experience
  • Experience in Space and Defense programs is highly preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
