Job Location : Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE :
To provide engineering support regarding design and technical assistance with all aspects of the underground mining operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Prepare mine plans, roof control plans, mine ventilation plans / mapping, mine drainage design, mine ventilation system design, mine supply water handling, and rock dust systems.
- Prepare accurate and timely volumetric calculations and provide monthly production and royalties
- Analyze labor requirements, equipment needs and operational costs to compute and prepare annual budget reports as well as accurately forecast future performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Provide accurate and timely reports of mine performance including section performance statistics.
- Provide cost analysis of projects and prepare AFEs for all mine related capital projects
- Plan and oversee capital projects to ensure timely completion within budgeted costs
- Plan and carry out special projects as required by mine management
- Oversee all aspects of underground surveying, including underground construction surveying.
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor of Science Degree in mining, civil engineering, or equivalent field
- 5-7 years of Engineering experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
- Pass Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam
- Knowledge of underground surveying practices
- Working knowledge of all applicable MSHA and WVMHS&T rules and regulations
