The District Sales Manager, Human Identification Division (HID) will be responsible for leading the sales team, driving business in the forensic DNA analysis space (Sample Extraction, quantitative PCR, PCR, and Fragment Analysis) and implementing commercial strategies to ensure achievement of the annual operating plan.

Additionally, you will be responsible for driving coordination with the HID business development team to support RapidDNA technology adoption.

Overall, this person will ensure there is a driven focus on the customer, sales force efficiency, price optimization, targeted promotions, and an effective sales strategy.

The chosen individual will be responsible for developing, motivating, and retaining an impactful team.

Based remotely in the Western US.

  • Serve as a role model and coach to the front-line sales team in all aspects of the sales process and customer relationship management.
  • Implement commercial strategies to ensure achievement of the annual operating plan.
  • Maintain robust monthly, quarterly and long-term forecasting processes.
  • Consistently supervise results of sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking using Sales Force and other designated IT tools.
  • Drive growth of the HID business via direct sales and our GSD (Genetic Sciences Division) channel partners.
  • Regularly provide feedback of field and market intelligence to influence sales, marketing, and division leadership.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of HID technologies, products, markets, and customer buying practices required to effectively lead a sales team to compete and grow the business.
  • Ensure that comprehensive product and application knowledge is used to effectively understand customer needs and position solutions to drive business performance.
  • Control expenses against pre-established budget and submit required reports on a timely basis.
  • Attract, develop, and retain sales reps. Build teams, inspire others and resolve conflicts. Openly communicate, develop the team, and drive performance.
  • Bachelors Degree required : Forensic Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, biochemistry, or related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct people management.
  • 7+ years of sales experience, including Capital equipment, in the Life Sciences, Government, Research and / or Clinical Markets.
  • Extensive knowledge of Forensic DNA workflows (PCR / qPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis, and Next Generation Sequencing) is highly desirable.
  • Track record of consistent sales achievement.
  • Setting sales strategies and coaching for selling efficiency.
  • Analyzing industry & markets.
  • Planning business, forecasting, and budgeting resources.
