We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate - Learning Support Associate, who is skilled and experienced in research methodologies, survey design, and data analysis with advanced Excel experience.
The ideal candidate may also have experience with software programs such as MaxQDA, SPSS, NVivo, STATA, or Atlas.ti for data analysis;
experience with Qualtrics for survey design. The Research Associate involves overseeing grant-related research activities and supporting professional development evaluation and other duties in support of projects’ research activities.
Essential Duties / Tasks
Professional Development Content - Assist TRAIN PD leadership team with evaluation of professional development content and delivery.
Provide PD trainers with feedback reports on sessions completed for continuous improvement. All in support of research project.
Supervise and facilitate the Texas Center for Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL) research team with evaluation of instructor led professional development training content and delivery.
Ensure that all PD trainers and PD specialists receive feedback reports on sessions completed for continuous improvement.
Collect and assess PD Portal data usage reports and feedback to determine areas for improvement.
Assessment Support - Assist with design, data collection, and reporting of statewide needs assessment for professional development, including but not limited to analysis of existing data sets, conducting or assisting with interviews, conducting surveys / questionnaires, and facilitating focus groups.
Lead contact for Class Climate Survey Program implementation and usage. Lead contact for Qualtrics Survey creation and distribution.
Assists TCALL team with survey design, distribution, and reporting. Assist TCALL with Laserfiche form and workflow creation to streamline and improve quality and service.
Supervise and facilitate the TCALL research team with the design, data collection, and reporting of annual statewide needs assessment for professional development, including but not limited to analysis of existing data sets, conducting, or assisting with interviews, conducting surveys / questionnaires, and facilitating focus groups.
General Research Program Support - Field-based research activities of literature reviews, outreach to identify network with emerging community-based literacy providers, and other support to project leadership.
Facilitate field-based research activities such as literature reviews, outreach initiatives to identify and network with emerging community-based literacy providers, and other projects in support of the TCALL grant.
Participate in PD content development by writing course content for the PD Portal and providing post-production support on other course content.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Two years’ experience working in a research capacity.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Two years' experience with Office Suite including advanced use of Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with implementing research methodologies.
- Experience with survey design.
- Experience with writing formal data-based research reports.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master’s Degree in Education, Research or a related field.
- Four years’ experience working in a research capacity.
- Experience with software programs such as MaxQDA, SPSS, NVivo, STATA, or Atlas.ti for data analysis. Experience with Qualtrics for survey design.
