Job Description
You will work in the lab at the bench to develop new and existing agricultural micronutrient formulations. Your role involves conducting experiments to optimize the marketing, regulatory, and production performance of agricultural products.
You will work with liquid and powder chemicals, developing different formulations and testing for the right characteristics.
You will run your own projects, attend weekly meetings with the R&D manager, and collaborate with third-party manufacturers and customers for larger scale productions.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate across business capabilities including procurement, product stewardship, and operations to ensure product meets end user / brand / competitive specifications, commercialization timelines, and product quality criteria.
- Drive continuous improvement through formulation optimization that minimizes waste and optimizes product portfolio.
- Provide technical support to sales teams, operations, and marketing, including general questions, quality issues, manufacturing support, product stability, and product compatibility.
- Apply critical and strategic thinking to identify new opportunities and solve complex problems.
- Monitor the market to identify new product technologies, explore potential improvements for products / processes, and identify insights to help the business team drive portfolio strategy.
- Continually develop subject matter expertise and coach / educate the organization on areas of expertise or new product introductions to improve performance.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year of experience with formulation development and bench testing in a laboratory setting.
- 1+ year of experience with chemical handling (powder or liquid).
- General knowledge and understanding of chemistry-based testing, wet chemistry, research & development, formulation development, new product development, agriculture, paint manufacturing, project management, inorganic chemistry, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic.
- Problem-solving mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physical Science, Microbiology preferred).
- Experience with new product development within R&D.
- Experience managing multiple projects regarding new product development / method development.
- Prefer previous experience within the agricultural space, but Food & Beverage, Pharma / Bio, Chemical Manufacturing, Paint Manufacturing, and Cosmetic industries would also translate well.
- Inorganic chemistry experience is a plus.
- Independent, creative problem solver who can quickly pick up on procedures and processes and learn quickly from SOPs.
Work Environment
You will be working on-site in a lab setting as part of a team of three chemists and an R&D manager. The position is part of the micronutrients team.
The shift is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with core hours from 6 : 30 AM to 6 : 30 PM. There is flexibility with the start time, but you should be in by 9 : 00 AM.
