Job Description

Facilitates the nutrition care process in order to provide the patient with optimal medical nutrition therapy.

Posting Details

• Shift : Day shift (8 hours) - in person. Required to work some holidays - no evenings / graves. 1 weekend per month required which involves coming into the hospital on Saturdays and being on-call remote Sundays
• Full Time 40 hrs / weekly

Will provide inpatient nutrition therapy, nutrition support (parenteral and enteral), and nutrition education to a variety of patients in all patient care settings.

Scope

• Counsels and instructs outpatients and / or families providing written instruction materials
• Evaluates and documents patient and / or caregiver understanding of diet based on behavioral objectives.
• Evaluates, interprets and uses pertinent current research relating to nutrition in order to develop and revise education materials and teaching outlines
• Responds to telephone requests / referrals, sending information as appropriate.
• Participates in programs and education for staff, patients and community.
• Documentation and Billing.
• Documents patient visits and bills patients for services according to established policy and procedures.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with dietetic internship or equivalent is required
• Registration with the ADA Commission on Dietitian Registration is required Current BLS or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire is required

• Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.

• May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
