Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Assistant Director to join The Baby College.
The Assistant Director will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone : break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
The Baby College, which is a critical piece of our early intervention and parent engagement work, is a program that addresses the needs of families through a series of parenting workshops for expecting parents and those raising toddlers.
Workshops and classes are held both evenings and Saturdays, and all services are free. Families receive resources, incentives, and ongoing support through various educational engagements, which cover a broad range of subjects, including brain development, health and wellness, and parent-child bonding, among other many others.
The primary goal of The Baby College is to provide families with both resources and support necessary to raise happy and healthy children who enter school ready to learn.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Director to serve as an integral part of The Baby College management team. The Assistant Director is responsible for working collaboratively with the Program Director to develop vision, support, and direction for full-time staff and part-time staff.
The Assistant Director will supervise a team of professionals to ensure that best practices are coordinated seamlessly through outreach, program engagement, and family support.
The Assistant Director will report to the Program Director.
