About the Position :

The Counter Sales / Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver is a versatile role responsible for supporting the efficient operations of Robert Madden Industries.

This position involves handling various tasks within the warehouse, including receiving and organizing HVAC equipment and supplies, preparing orders, and ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to customers.

It also will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. The role requires a combination of warehouse duties, safe driving skills, and counter sales.

Essential Responsibilities :

Counter Sales Duties :

• Welcome customers warmly and establish a positive rapport, creating a customer-centric atmosphere.
• Listen attentively to customer inquiries, understand their HVAC-related needs, and provide accurate and relevant information.
• Utilize your comprehensive understanding of HVAC products, including technical specifications and applications, to offer expert advice and recommendations.
• Efficiently process customer orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system, confirming product availability and estimated delivery or pickup times.
• Address basic technical queries and troubleshoot common HVAC challenges, ensuring customer inquiries are resolved promptly and effectively.
• Identify opportunities to upsell complementary HVAC products, accessories, or premium alternatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Foster strong customer relationships by consistently delivering high-quality service, handling concerns, inquiries, and returns professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure inventory levels are well-maintained, including receiving and inspecting shipments and updating inventory records.
• Contribute to maintaining an organized store environment by arranging displays and optimizing product accessibility.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and inventory updates to support administrative tasks.
• Uphold safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing HVAC products to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Set in on service training, parts training, and complete online training.
• Learn and offer promotions we have going on during special limited times.
• Work on Saturday's during summer hours and be on call or it is your responsibility to find a teammate to fill in.
• Any other duties as required.

Warehouse Duties :

• Receive and Inspect Goods : Receive shipments of HVAC equipment and supplies, checking for accuracy and quality. Ensure all received items are in proper condition and match the accompanying documentation.
• Inventory Management : Organize and manage inventory, including shelving, labeling, and categorizing items. Regularly update inventory records and report discrepancies to supervisors.
• Order Preparation : Assemble orders based on customer requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Package items securely for safe transportation.
• Equipment Maintenance : Perform basic maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment as needed, such as cleaning and minor repairs.
• Warehouse Safety : Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Properly handle and store hazardous materials, following regulatory requirements.
• Any other duties as required.

Delivery Driver Duties :

• Route Planning : Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Consider factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and delivery priorities.
• Loading and Unloading : Safely load HVAC equipment and supplies onto the delivery vehicle, securing items to prevent damage during transportation.

Unload items at customer locations using proper equipment and techniques.

• Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including professional communication, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving issues or concerns on-site.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate delivery records, including receipts, delivery confirmations, and any required signatures.

Submit necessary paperwork and documentation to the office.

• Vehicle Maintenance : Conduct routine checks of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition. Report any maintenance needs or repairs promptly.
• Any other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and / or Experience :

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment and supplies is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Knowledge of local traffic regulations and routes.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Must have experience driving an 18' box truck and or 24' stake bed.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) frequently.
• Customer-centric attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC products, equipment, and components.
