Description
GAI Consultants is seeking an Assistant CAD 2 Operator candidate for support of Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services.
The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and / or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.

Job Duties :
- Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
- Assist in compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
- Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
- Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
- Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and / or intelligent design software (BIM) experience preferred.
- Ability to learn multiple software platforms including, but not limited to, advanced 3D modeling and intelligent design software.
- Attending project-specific meetings as required.
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments.
- Ability to work extended hours or after hours when required.
- Learning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards.
- Effective communication with the project team.

Education
Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School
Technical Responsibilities
- Ability to utilize software to complete a design package.
- Ability to organize data. General understanding of drawing package procedures.
Project and Task Management
Responsible for personal task management and adherence todeadlines and scope
Management Responsibility
- No Management responsibilities.
- Close supervision for difficult projects
Communication Skills
Possess good oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff
