Unemployment Claims Specialist
PositionSummary :
The Unemployment Claims Specialist supportsthe Unemployment Claims department with accurate and timely processing of claims received and assists the department with the implementation of enhancements.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as liaison between Unemployment Department and any 3rd party vendors to create efficiencies.
- Review uploaded mail correspondence in the unemployment claims system.
- Investigate claims received and collect information from the client records and contacts for timely claim / determinations protests.
- Build and organize unemployment cases for clients to meet the burden of proof for each case.
- Contact clients to obtain additional information as requested by the state within the established time frame.
- Manage and process unemployment claims from receipt to completion, with emphasis on data gathering, client communication, and case building.
- Verify benefit charge statements.
- Complete wage and benefit audits.
- Help maintain, and suggest new, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
- Create uniformity between various software used (e.g. US4U, Prism).
- Test department enhancements and ad hoc requests as needed.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with unemployment claims and SIDES preferred.
- Computer / tech savvy including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Work experience in support capacity for Human Resource / Employee relations function a plus.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro is a plus.
- Organization skills and ability to follow up timely to sensitive requests.
