Job Title : Financial Reporting Analyst (Mutual Funds)

Contract : 6 months (possible to extend)

Location : Boston, MA

Pay Rate range : $38-42 / hour (eligible for OT)

Company Overview :

Our client, a leading financial services firm, is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst with a background in mutual fund financial statement preparation and review.

Responsibilities :

  • Review and prepare financial statements for traditional mutual funds, with a focus on individual bonds.
  • Work closely with the financial reporting team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the audit preparation process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review fund expenses, accruals, and fund invoices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, including GAAP, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and relevant tax codes.

Requirements :

  • Recent Experience : Prior experience in reviewing financial statements for mutual funds is essential.
  • Industry Background : Experience working at major financial institutions such, or other similar service providers is highly desirable.
  • Audit Preparation : Must be able to contribute immediately to audit preparation efforts. There will be limited capacity for extensive training on financial reporting.
  • Fund Accounting : Fund accounting experience is not required for this role.
  • SAR Experience : Experience with SAR is not necessary, though it is a nice-to-have.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Mutual Funds : Strong familiarity with traditional mutual funds, especially those involving individual bonds.
  • CPA Consideration : A CPA designation is considered a plus but is not required. Candidates with a background in public accounting will also be considered if they have relevant mutual fund financial statement experience.

Top Skills :

  • Proven experience working at a financial service provider.
  • Strong background in preparing and reviewing financial statements, especially in a mutual fund context.
  • Ability to work effectively in a client-driven, deadline-oriented environment.

Work Schedule :

Hybrid schedule : 3 days in the office, 2 days working remotely.

Contract Details :

  • This is a contract position. At this time, there is no confirmation of potential extension, and conversion to full-time is not an option so far.
