General Description
The Student Success Assistant will be responsible for answering calls and assisting students with SSA assignments and appointment scheduling.
Reports To Administrative Assistant - Student Success Advising What position(s) reports to this position? None Minimum Education / Experience Must be a current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester
enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester.

Exhibit appropriate professional behaviors to staff, students and others. Physical Demands / Working Conditions 1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Sedentary work : The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Records Office and the OCCC campus.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and / or fingers.
This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 10 pounds to grasp or lift materials or equipment.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to grasp, move, or lift materials or equipment.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
3. VISUAL ACUITY :
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS :
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting. Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of college course work preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred. Required Training None Work Hours To be arranged.
Will be expected to work as needed up to 25 hours per week during the following hours.
Monday- Thursday 8 : 00am-6 : 00pm
Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm
Additional evening and Saturday hours required during peak enrollment periods. Assigning new students to an SSA cohort
Scheduling new student appointments
Communicating SSA cohort issues to the Director and Assistant Director of Student Success
Advising.
Support to the Student Success Advisors and Enrollment Planning Guides as needed. Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
