Assignment Description
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION : Managerial positions involve supervision of other subordinate managers and / or supervisors, and / or direction of units, functions, or projects (which may be staffed by civilian or military personnel).
Managers are responsible for justifying, directing, and allocating resources (people, budget, material) across the organization through one or more levels of supervision, and for setting organizational goals, objectives, and priorities.
- They handle highly complex, sensitive, or ambiguous challenges facing the organization(s); interact with, influence and persuade high-ranking officials within and outside the organization, agency and other external organizations;
- and make decisions that have an impact within and outside of the immediate organization and agency. Managers must supervise at least one government supervisor;
they typically supervise between three to fifteen employees. Supv Geospatial Analysts create, analyze, and interpret spatial data to support U.
S. military and policymaker interests. They apply knowledge of geographic information science and technology, statistics, spatial thinking, remote sensing, intelligence issues, and the social and physical sciences to characterize events, discover relationships and trends, and produce geospatial intelligence.
These analysts also conduct multi-INT research, conduct descriptive and predictive analyses, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products.

As supervisor, you will be a part of the United States Southern Command (Doral, FL), one of the Department of Defense’s 11 Unified Combatant Commands headquartered in a highly desirable location in Southern Florida.
You will gain experience working in a 4-star U.S. military headquarters where you will lead, manage, and drive the timely and accurate Geospatial Intelligence.
You will also build fulfilling partnerships with peers across multiple organizations as you synthesize and prioritize team work.
This position is at the forefront of NGA’s Analytic Workflow Modernization efforts.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA : For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required).
Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement’s mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement :
1. Demonstrated experience with GIS tools, models, or applications.
2. Experience creating and implementing analytic modernization initiatives; such as, automated collection and analytic modeling, structure observational and event-based data, and computer vision.
3. Proficiency of software tools, techniques and best practices to accommodate data management, manipulation, exploitation and multi-INT data analysts.
4. Demonstrated experience leading and managing others.
5. Demonstrated experience effectively leveraging collaborative and constructive networks of diverse coworkers, peers, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and teams to achieve positive results.
6. Demonstrated experience assessing current and historical imagery for relevance to a particular intelligence issue, including determining characteristics of activities, objects, and / or features depicted on imagery.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT : A. Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, Physical Science, Data Analytics, Cartography, Statistics, or a related field -OR- a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a certificate in GIS from an accredited university.
OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience : A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in GIS, spatial analysis, or any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.
As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.
OR- C. Experience : A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT : Distinguish principal colors and shades / hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20 / 20 or better with or without corrective lenses
Qualifications Desirable
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA : In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired :
1. Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau to enable the processing and display of data / metrics.
2. Understanding applicability and use of cases of statistical, geospatial modeling, and other data-driven problem-solving analyses to address
intelligence questions.
3. Current GEOINT or other Intelligence Professional Certification.
4. Provides support to operational missions using the latest GEOINT techniques and procedures.
