The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, American Nurses Association's (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16.
The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Education :
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required
Experience :
6 Months Nursing - Medical Acute Care Required
Certifications / Licensures :
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Required or If position is identified as an internal training program, Required within 6 months of assuming position
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11 / 15 / 2018) Required - If position is identified as an internal training program, must complete the Apex Cardiac Rhythm test within 6 months of transfer.
NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification - Achieved by the end of orientation to the assigned area - Required
NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Competency - Successful completion on an annual basis - Required
Attains 6 Trauma CEUs annually - Required
Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Required within 2 years of hire
Annual stroke care education as determined by department or Stroke Program - Required
CPI - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification program every two years - Required within 1 year of hire
Skills :
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated / relevant experience and / or licensure.
Note : Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
