The CityLab / Watershed Access Lab Outreach Student Assistant will assist in the administration and day to day activities within the CityLab and Watershed Access Lab Outreach Programs.
During this experience, students will be immersed in the laboratory, assisting educators in preparing and teaching hands-on modules to visiting elementary, middle and high school students.
Duties may include :
- Assist in administrative support for outreach programs offered through CityLab, the Watershed Access Lab and CASE
- Assist in preparation of materials / chemicals for use in CityLab / Watershed Access Lab programs
- Assist with setup, breakdown and cleanup of materials for CityLab / Watershed Access Lab programs
- Assist with instruction and equipment demonstration for middle and high school students participating in CityLab / Watershed Access Lab programs.
Available hours will be between 8 : 00AM and 3 : 00PM. Shift can be as short as 1-2 hours and up to 6 hours.
Please note : Your scheduled hours may be altered due to reduced work load. We can’t guarantee hours each week.
- Experience working with middle and high school student or interest in working with this audience
- Chemical preparation skills
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office
- Experience with gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometer, micropipitting, and the scientific method
- Attention to detail

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
