The Operations Manager, Libraries will be an integral part of the Biopharma Libraries team in the Twist Biopharma Solutions division.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical, operational, and project focused individual to manage operations across multiple library products.
The Operations Manager will enable the Biopharma Libraries team to deliver the optimal customer experience by ensuring operational excellence.
The Operations Manager will focus on maintaining projects through a product life cycle, optimizing operational systems and processes, facilitating cross-functional communication, analyzing, and automating data, and identifying opportunities for improvement by effectively managing leaders of multiple library products.
The Operations Manager will serve as the communication conduit between the production team, product management, field sales, and internal R&D / Operations teams;
and as the overall driver for cross functional efforts to fulfill Twist’s customer needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Operations Manager will report into senior leaders of the Biopharma Libraries team, with key responsibilities outlined below :
- Order fulfillment : Shepard orders (defined and prioritized by sales leaders) to ensure quality fulfillment and on time delivery
- Project maintenance : Ensure projects are maintained throughout the product life cycle (intake to quality control) with high quality and efficient pace
- Organizational scaling : Drive proposals for extension of operational improvements across product lines
- Field communication : develop and manage field communications on manufacturing issues, low inventory, and stock out, product quality issues, product changes and improvements, etc.
- Product / Delivery Analysis : Develop reports that allow for regular review of product consumption, delivery turnaround time by product line, key account & repeat business monitoring to understand specific bottlenecks that may be encountered enabling action plans to be developed and implemented
- Management : Manage a team of 4-5 individuals that maintain distinct product lines
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Experience and Key Skills
- B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field (M.Sc. preferred)
- A can-do attitude and high energy are strongly desired.
- 2-5 years experience in any of the following functions : R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Project management, Sales, Customer service, etc.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience and working with cross functional teams
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing landscape
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong proactive ability to anticipate problems and mitigate risk
- Effective project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive project results
- Clear communicator and trainer
- Strong analytical skills
- Education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and physical requirements (if needed)
- Preferred but not required : Utilizing software systems such as Benchling, Tableau and Confluence / JIRA
The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package.
Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above.
