Job Summary
The Senior Vice President, Business Development Leader will drive Syneos Health's strategic growth by leading a team of experienced business developers.
The role focuses on expanding business within product development offerings, targeting biotechnological and pharmaceutical clients.
Emphasis will be placed on building future partnerships and developing a strong pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and value creation plan.
Business Development Strategy :
Collaborate with senior management to implement marketing and site management strategies, optimizing growth in line with corporate goals.
Sales Forecasting and Planning :
Oversee the development of annual business plans and ensure accurate forecasting of sales and activity objectives. Regularly review and adjust strategies as needed.
Team Management :
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of business developers, setting performance expectations, providing guidance, and fostering professional growth.
Ensure the team meets or exceeds business development goals year over year.
Relationship Management :
Cultivate meaningful relationships with strategic operational leaders, aligning solutions with company policies. Provide input on marketing, advertising, and corporate communication strategies.
Reporting and Communication :
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on new activities, customer engagements, and key issues. Ensure accurate data entry into Salesforce.
Product Knowledge :
Maintain a high level of expertise in Syneos Health offerings and engage customers across the product development life cycle to deliver value-added solutions.
Leadership and HR Oversight :
Oversee all management decisions related to hiring, performance reviews, salary administration, and professional development.
Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced staff.
Client Engagement :
Actively engage with clients to identify opportunities, build relationships, and deliver tailored solutions alongside the business development team or independently.
Additional Responsibilities :
- Participate in professional meetings, conferences, and conventions as required.
- Extensive travel (over 50%) may be required.
Qualifications
Qualifications :BA / BS in a science-related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA / PhD / MD) preferred.
Experience :
Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical clinical research and business development. Prior leadership in sales, marketing, or medical affairs is desirable.
Skills :
Demonstrated leadership and people management experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Other :
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for a corporate credit card.
